Introduction
Starting with firmware version 2.0.78.3067.3 [199] released in May 2025, the behavior of the reset button was updated.
This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to reboot, perform a soft reset, and execute a factory reset on the Ezlo Secure and E550 controllers. Additionally, it explains when each action should be used and what behavior to expect.
Understanding Reset Actions
1. Reboot (Power Cycle)

- The controller will blink blue twice per second, indicating that a reboot has been initiated.
- Release the button.
- The controller will restart.
- A broadcast signal is sent indicating the reboot was performed.
Important Notes:
- If the button is released before 10 seconds, the reboot is canceled.
2. Soft Reset
Description: Restores the controller to default settings, except for WiFi settings leaving the hub connected to the WiFi network. Removes paired devices.

- The controller will blink white twice per second, indicating a soft reset is about to be performed.

- The controller sends a broadcast signal indicating the reset has been performed.
- In order to cancel a soft reset in progress, keep holding the reset button on the back and the front speaker button until +20 seconds have elapsed
3. Factory Reset
Description: Restores the controller to factory settings, erasing all configurations including WiFi settings and removing all paired devices.
When to use:
- If performing a complete system reset before transferring ownership.
- If encountering persistent issues that a soft reset does not resolve.
Steps to Perform a Factory Reset:
- Press and hold the front speaker button and the reset button on the back simultaneously for 10-20 seconds.
- The controller will blink white once per second, indicating a factory reset is about to be performed.

- The controller sends a broadcast signal indicating the reset has been performed.
Important Notes:

When to use:
- If a reset action was triggered by mistake.
Steps to Cancel a Reset:
- Press and hold the front speaker button and reset button on the back for more than 20 seconds.
- Release both buttons after 20 seconds.
